Hello AMVETS and others, I finally received information and pictures of the results of the Department’s $500.00 donation to USO New England ‘s Rise and Shine (dine) program. Thanks to those members who voted for this donation on Sunday at last years Convention.
I connected with Ashley Twigg, the Operations & Program Manager, who coordinated and executed the program with the service members. It was a big hit! Below is some more information about the event from Ashley, and attached are several really nice photos. You will note the signage thanking AMVETS on the tables.
Thank you again for the great support from AMVETS – it helped support the work of the USO in doing some great outreach to our service members to talk about how USO programs and services are available to them at over 200 locations around the globe while enjoying some delicious food. They really appreciated the kind gesture!

Subject: Rise and Dine
The Rise and Dine program has been hosted twice so far at Hanscom Air Force Base, serving 200 total service members. These airmen consisted of those from the Medical Squadron and 66th Air Base Group (Comptroller Squadron, Logistics Readiness Squadron, and Air Base Group Agencies). Both events took place right where each unit is located on base and were held bright and early when the airmen started their days.
We also brought the Security Forces group full meals as well.
