National Archives Veterans Service Records

Don,

This link is really very good.  I interview veterans, who on many occasions, can’t locate their
DD-214’s and refer them to this link.  I was missing my very first DD214. I have all the others
but wanted to get the first. I didn’t realize how important that document could be as a youngster.  So I tried the
system provided. I received 2 copies of ALL my DD-214’s (though I didn’t need all) within a couple of weeks
because I faxed the form instead of using snail mail which probably saved a week or two due to handling.

Feel free to use this info if anyone has questions.
By the way, I have also recommended this link to spouses and other relatives of deceased veterans with equal
success.

Does anyone find a need for this?
